PC/Laptop Advice Recommendations
Common Problems
- Running out of disk space?
- Backup
Many PC's are set up with two hard disk drives (e.g. C: and D: on my PC in picture below) but most of the software and files are only being stored on the first drive. This can quickly run out of space, especially if you have lots of photos and videos.
Where the C: drive is getting very full you should consider moving some photos/videos/music to the other drive to clear some space. For example if you use Picasa to manage your photos, you can right click on a folder and move it to another drive (in my case D:).
I suggest getting a biggish USB hard drive (maybe twice the size of your PC's drives) and using Windows Backup (if you have Windows 7). If you're on an earlier version of Windows there are several free tools which are worth looking at.
